Short URLs

When you click the 'More Details' link on your website, the 'Website Preview' in a property record or a user clicks 'Full Details' in Rightmove, Expert Agent opens a huge URL web address. Here’s an example:

http://www.expertagent.co.uk/EstateAgentSoftware/EstateAgencyProperties.aspx?aid={76c20eab-0589-4aeb-a7be-ce3182f07285}&pid=57d0d370-f867-41e0-9e70-f12eaa59d221

That’s fine until you need to type it yourself or use it in a media that restricts on space – notably SMS text messages or Twitter.

To overcome this, each property has a short URL. This is generated automatically when the property is added.

The short URL is displayed at the bottom of the Advert Page tab in a property record:

You’ll need to use this if you use a 3rd party to power your website. Paste the URL for the property on your site into the Website URL box and regenerate.
