Booking your Migration
We provide you with a Migration Checklist showing what can and can't be migrated from your current provider. Â If we haven't migrated from the provider in question before, we'll capture some test data and produce a new Migration Checklist.
If you're happy with the Checklist, we book a slot for your migration, and send you a bill.
The Migration Process
Prior to the migration, we may contact you to collect property pictures. Â This is done remotely if possible, but we may need you to copy the images to a USB stick and post it to us.
On the first day of your migration, we collect your data via one of the following methods:
Once the data has been collected, nothing new added to your old system will be migrated into Expert Agent, so:
The migrated data will normally be in place within the guidelines previously outlined. Sometimes, the property images and historical events can take a bit longer to trickle in depending on the amount provided. Where a customer has vast amounts of historical data, we sometimes restrict data to that entered in the last 7 years.  This is in line with what you are legally obliged to keep.Â
You'll then need to spend time checking / cleaning the data as per the instructions below. Â This is an essential part of the process and must be done before you can upload to portals from Expert Agent.
Â
Data migration review
You'll need to perform some post migration checks and edit the migrated data wherever something isn't quite as it should be. See the following chapters for information on what to check:

Post Migration Clean Up
Following your Migration, one of our Implementation Managers will contact the main point of contact from each branch  to quickly run through the tidy up of a property and applicant record to demonstrate how this is done.  This is your opportunity to raise any questions regarding your migration if needed.
