What do I do if I've had a letter from HMRC requesting a return under Schedule 23?

If you have received notice under schedule 23 of the finance act 2011 to send information to HMRC information on the gross rents you have received on behalf of your landlords, it is the ROPL-01 you will need to use. You can access this via your top finance menu - reporting - ROPL-01.

Please bear in mind that you will need to check through the ROPL-01 report to confirm that all the information and landlord's that are included are correct, there may be some you need to remove/amend for various reasons. All mandatory fields requested by HMRC will be included in the downloadable CSV for you so you will have all the information you require to complete the return using the template HMRC will have sent over to you.

Its important that you send HMRC back the report using their template due to the checks and formulae within it. You need to transpose the information off of the EA report into their template or your return will likely be rejected.
